PUPPETEER

Harrison Bryan saw “AVENUE Q” when he was 11-years-old. It changed his life. He jumped HAND-first into the world of puppetry, making sock puppets through high school and college, performing in several self-produced puppet shows in and out of NYC.

Since graduating, he has had the privilege to participate in several professional productions as a puppeteer, training at The Eugene O'Neill National Puppetry Conference with Jim Kroupa ("Jim Henson Company," "The Muppets") while being mentored by Emmy Award winner Stacey Weingarten (“Avenue Q,” “Sesame Street”, "Crank Yankers"), and Broderick Jones (“Puppet Kitchen”) His puppetry has been featured in Tony Award winning plays like “Hand to God,” and musicals like “Avenue Q,” and “Rescue Rue,” Off Broadway.

On film, Harrison has been a puppeteer on set for “Jihadi Street” ("BEST ENSEMBLE" - Portland Film Fest) – manipulating and voicing several characters. He is also developing a  puppet short film, “Americans Against Puppets,” currently in consideration for the Davey Foundation National Short Film Grant.

Harrison works and performs with puppet companies “Puppets By Gwen” (seen on “Go Daddy’s” Superbowl Commercial) and “Musical Magic” (The Ronald McDonald House) bringing puppets into hospitals to entertain children.

Harrison is also the creator of “UNDERSTUDY TYRONE” – a foul-mouthed sock-puppet, with an episodic digital series talk show entitled, “LIFE SOCKS!"  Mini-Episodes are dropped on Instagram, (@understudytyrone). Full episodes can be found on YouTube here.
